BIG SMILES ALL ROUND! School Visit - Strathmore School

Sunday 12th July 2015

We spent a wonderfully fun morning performing our show to the primary children of Strathmore  School in Richmond. It was lovely to see the children, (who all have learning difficulties, especially autism) responding to the fun characters, with lots of them joining in with the actions.

It really is a lovely school - everyone was so friendly and welcoming and we are thrilled to have been asked to go back in the Autumn to deliver workshops and other performances.

With special thanks for all her help to Sarah Hurtado, deputy head

'Amazing! Really high energy and so great to see so many kids taking part!'

Meadlands Primary School Summer Fair

Sunday 5th July 2015

On Saturday 4th July, we were invited to perform at Meadlands Primary School Summer Fair, which had so many fun things to see and do.  To mention just a few, we were spoilt for choice with activities; there was a bouncy castle, balloon races, a football and table tennis tournament, stalls, tombolas, face painting, and of course, the brilliant Meadlands Got Talent!

It was a baking hot day, and we performed in the playground and it was so lovely to see so many children joining in with the singing and dancing in the show – not to mention the many volunteers to put cream in Biff’s face and custard on Bash’s head!

During the show, as well as Biff, Bash and Bosh, the very friendly and enthusiastic audience met some giant vegetables, Luigi big brain, the naughty waiter, the rude customer, the sad shopkeeper, Kevin the invisible mouse, and lots of other funny characters!

Thank you to Mrs Alex Colclough: Deputy Head teacher & Carrie Boulton, Friends of Meadlands and organising such a brilliant day!

Thank you for having us!

We asked some of the audience what they thought of the show....

‘Dedicated, professional performers who put on a really fun show!’

Will, Dad

'I loved pretending to be the giant vegetables, my favourite was the big grumpy potato!’     Josh, 5

‘My 7 year old was transfixed!’

Carrie, Mum

  'I loved doing the actions!'

All of us at SILLY TRAIN THEATRE were very privileged to be able to make some very ill girls and boys smile.
